The development wins gold for 'Best Mixed-use Development' for the third time

Quartermile has been recognised as a gold winner at the UK’s largest and most prestigious national housebuilding awards ceremony, The WhatHouse? Awards.  It is the first development in the awards’ 35-year history to win the gold award for ‘Best Mixed-use Development’ three times. It previously won the top accolade in 2010 and 2014.

The WhatHouse? Awards are held annually at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Over 1,700 senior figures from the UK housebuilding industry attended this year’s event where Quartermile was announced as a gold winner.

Commenting on the award win, Quartermile's Managing Director, Paul Curran, said: “We are enormously proud to have won such a high profile award not just once – but three times.

The WhatHouse? Awards are regarded as the housebuilding industry’s Oscars, and to be the first to win a gold award in the same category three times since the awards began, really is an outstanding achievement.

“This award further reinforces Quartermile’s reputation as not only Edinburgh’s, but the UK’s prime residential and commercial location. Everyone should be very proud of the role they have played in enabling the development to be recognised again in this way.”

Commenting on the development, the judges said: “Quartermile has set the bar so high and its success has been so all encompassing, that, as it reaches near finality, all the pieces are coming together to make this a

truly mixed development with everything that is required for living, work and play provided onsite and to the highest standards.

“Quartermile is now the very essence of facilitated urban living. With the central Lister Square now virtually complete and bounded by office blocks, retail and leisure outlets and buildings refurbished as apartments, the buzz simply underlines the success at every level of this exemplary development.”
