Works to restore three magnificent Grade A listed buildings at Craighouse have reached a significant milestone as they move towards completion.
The repaired and refurbished roofs to East Craig, South Craig and Bevan have been unveiled after months of careful and meticulous restoration works with four further buildings set to be restored throughout the development of this historic site.
Specialist local tradesmen have re-laid slate to all three buildings, which date back to the late 1800s, using the buildings’ original roofing alongside conservation slate to bring these buildings back to their former glory.
Designed by renowned architect Sydney Mitchell, South Craig is set within a historic Victorian building and offers three exceptionally spacious apartments and a townhouse, all with spectacular views. East Craig is an elegant villa converted into just two unique properties while Bevan will form one magnificent home. Once complete, the buildings will retain many original features and notable architectural details.
The first homes at Craighouse are expected to be ready for occupation in 2019 with works ongoing to create a new community within what is set to become one of Edinburgh’s finest developments.
